Troubleshooting

If your device is not working properly here are two simple things you can do at home to try to revive the device. See if one of these solutions restores function to yours:

1) Try a new battery.  Before rechargeable batteries were available, hearing aids used disposable Zinc-Air batteries.  See if a new one brings your device back to life.  If you have a rechargeable model, place your devices in the charger.  This should power them down, causing them to restart when you remove them again.

2) Replace the wax filter (aka wax trap or wax guard).  Most hearing aids have a small plastic filter designed to capture ear wax, dust, and debris before it makes its way into the sound bore.  If enough gunk accumulates it can block sound from coming through cause the device to sound weak or dead.  Replacing the wax filter can quickly revive your hearing aid to sounding like it should.

If these two tactics are not effective, your device likely needs professional service.
